Mehrnaz Moussavi is an oil and gouache painter based in Northern Virginia. She obtained her B.A. in Art Studio/Computer Graphics from George Mason University.

She has also taken painting classes at The Art League in Alexandria, VA, as well as The Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC.

She is inspired by the works of John Singer Sargent as well as Edgar Degas, Monet and Manet. 

Drawn to capturing the beauty that surrounds her through gouache and oil paints, Mehrnaz enjoys painting from life and regularly sets up still life's and draws and paints them. 

She also enjoys painting the female figure dancing as inspired by Edgar Degas's artwork of dancers. 

She appreciates realistic artwork but also loves to incorporate loose brushwork in her art as inspired be John Singer Sargent.

Her art is on sale on her website and she is also open to pet portrait commissions (as well as other types of commissions such as human portraiture, landscapes and still life's).
